CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)
INTRODUCTION
UBS is located at University Tunku Abdul Rahman Kampar Campus. The design of UBS covers the core area of the campus where the learning facilities are sprawled around the majestic lake 18 and continue to connect with the Westlake across UTAR Hospital, Lake 15@ the Sport Complex, Lake 14 until Lake 13 at UTAR Agriculture Park.
The Green areas around these lakes and the ground which connects them serve as a perfect setting to discover the beauty of nature and revitalize our spirit for a SUSTAINABILITY Reset.
THE DESIGN COMPETITION CHALLENGE
This Architecture Design Competition @ PAM 35th Annual Architecture Students Workshop is set to be the catalyst to spark the INCEPTIONIST creative ventures of SUSTAINABILITY Reset in making this SANCTUARY a reality.

COMPETITION FORMAT

10 members/ team @ mix student from different participating universities.
-
Each team will be assigned to one of the categories via a random balloting. Selection of team members and the assignment of design categories will be done through random balloting by the Organizing Committee of PAM35th Architecture Workshop.

Each team is to select a Team Leader who will be the contact point of communication between the team and the Organizing Committee (CSR-UBS) of PAM 35th Architecture Workshop
SCHEDULE
-
All teams are encouraged to meet and develop their design ideas before the competition day. This exercise will be good as an opportunity to get to know your architecture colleagues from different institutions and establish network for a good teamwork.

Pre discussion on design will save a lot of time during the competition period. You ONLY HAVE 4 HOURS TO COMPETE THIS DESIGN COMPETITION.

There are 3 categories of UBS Bamboo facilities in this design competition. The winning design will be considered for further development.

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
-
Overall design should be explorative to showcase the best possibilities of Bamboo architecture and to spark interest among the public on the inception of “new world of sustainable life”.

The main material for all buildings and structures must be BAMBOO (+- 70%).
-
SOFTSCAPE such as Bamboo and other Landscape plants and HARDSCAPE such as sculptures, resting benches, decks, entrance & walkways, etc., around the facilities are an important feature for this design challenge. These features, beside the functional space in the building, may serve as catalysts to bring the users together to promote a better community building.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A) FRAME MODEL

The Frame model from Rattan n bamboo stick will represent the overall form and basic/ main structure of the proposed design. This model should also show the softscape and the hardscape features of the proposed design.

the model is to be built on the graph paper @ A1 Board.
B) FLOOR & SITE PLAN
-
All spaces are to be labelled clearly on the plan. Only Floor plan are required.
-
Plan are to be drawn and colored on the A1 grid paper. It is recommended for the Plan to be drawn manually with Pencil to allow last minute correction. Inking can be done if time allows.

All coloring should be using only dry medium.
-
Furniture or built in fitting are not compulsory to be shown on the plan.

SUBMISSION TIME : 12:45PM
